Hearing Services at Dr. Campbell's Hearing Solutions

Hearing plays a crucial role in your overall well-being, from preventing dementia to keeping you connected with your loved ones.

At Dr. Campbell’s Hearing Solutions, our dedicated team of audiologists brings decades of experience in helping people hear and working with the latest hearing technology. We go beyond a simple hearing test—our comprehensive evaluations assess hearing, cognition, vision, balance, and dexterity, ensuring a holistic approach to your care.

Let us help you get back to doing what you love with confidence.

Hearing Protection

Loud noise exposure is a leading cause of hearing loss, as sounds over 85 decibels can permanently damage the inner ear’s hair cells. We offer custom-fit earmolds and earplugs to protect musicians, athletes, construction workers, and anyone exposed to hazardous noise.

Tinnitus Evaluation & Management
Tinnitus is the perception of sound—such as ringing, buzzing, or humming—when no external sound is present, often caused by an underlying condition. At Dr. Campbell’s Hearing Solutions, we evaluate tinnitus concerns and provide personalized solutions, including sound therapy options, to help reduce its impact and improve quality of life.
Hearing Tests
A hearing test is the first step in identifying hearing loss and determining its degree, from mild to profound. Our team conducts various tests, including speech audiometry, pure-tone audiometry, speech-in-noise testing, and tympanometry, to provide a comprehensive evaluation.
Hearing Aids
At Dr. Campbell’s Hearing Solutions, we provide and service a wide range of leading hearing aid brands, including Phonak, Oticon, ReSound, Unitron, Widex, Starkey, and Signia. Our team offers expert fittings, programming, and ongoing support to ensure your devices deliver the best possible hearing experience.
Hearing Aid Fitting
After your hearing test and selecting your hearing aids, our specialists will ensure they fit securely and comfortably. Then they will program your hearing aids based on your audiogram, fine-tuning the settings for optimal amplification and clarity in your daily environments
Hearing Aid Repair
Hearing aids experience daily wear and may need repairs for issues like feedback, whistling, or programming adjustments. Many repairs can be handled quickly in the office, but if there is more severe damage, we can send them to the manufacturer for further servicing.

Frequently asked questions

Can I see an audiologist without a referral?

Yes, you can book an appointment with an audiologist without needing a referral from a doctor or nurse. This is called self-referral and allows you to seek hearing care on your own. However, some insurance plans, including Medicare, may require a doctor’s referral for coverage.

If you want Medicare to cover a diagnostic hearing test, you will need a doctor’s referral. Medicare coverage is based on medical necessity, meaning a healthcare provider must document specific symptoms or concerns that justify the test.

Audiologists diagnose hearing loss through a detailed hearing evaluation, which includes different tests to measure your hearing ability and detect any issues. After the evaluation, they will explain your results, determine the type and severity of hearing loss, and recommend suitable solutions such as hearing aids, medical treatment, or other hearing care options.

The right hearing aid depends on your level of hearing loss, lifestyle, and personal preferences. Hearing aids come in different styles, each offering unique benefits. An audiologist can help you choose the best option based on your hearing needs, dexterity, daily activities, and cosmetic concerns.

Hearing loss can develop slowly, making it hard to notice at first. Common signs include:

  • Frequently asking people to repeat themselves
  • Struggling to follow conversations in noisy places
  • Turning up the volume on the TV or phone higher than others prefer
  • Feeling like people mumble or don’t speak clearly
  • Trouble hearing high-pitched voices, like children or women
  • Ringing or buzzing in the ears (tinnitus)
  • Feeling exhausted from trying to keep up with conversations

If you recognize any of these signs, a hearing evaluation with an audiologist can help determine whether you have hearing loss and what steps to take next. Early detection and treatment can enhance your communication and overall well-being.
